Pain, pain go away....

Today has been a total blur of pain. From the time I woke up I was barely able to move. My joints were all swollen and very tender to the touch. The center of my back felt like a spike had been driven through it sometime during the night. I'm thankful that Jon was off work to help with getting Maddie off to school. Just brushing her hair was painful and exhausting. I wanted so badly to paint today but was only able to apply a coat of gesso to my painting. I sat most of the morning with the heating pad on and off on my back. When I finally felt able to attempt something constructive, I made a batch of Rice Krispie Treats. That alone exhausted me to have to take a nap. I slept about an hour and a half, waking up feeling worse and hurting even more. Later, after making dinner and cleaning up, I was clearly done for the day. Time to sit, again. Sitting down and staying down is the hardest thing in the world for me. I've always been active and knowing that I can't hurts more than the pain itself. Pain, pain go away ....forever.

  1. My daughter is in the same situation and has a baby boy. I help her with her son all the time and I know her frustration level is so high and even that wears her out. She's gone off most of her pain meds as they didn't really work and she didn't like being in a fog. I just hope everyday that someone figures out how to help the pain without the side effects. She was a type A personality before she got sick and now she's a type A stuck in a worn out body. You're very lucky to have a supportive husband. Hoping you can have a pain free day. xoxo Mary

  2. Sorry to hear you are in such pain. I tried to comment on your OWOH giveaway, but there is some glitch that won't allow the comment section to appear. Maybe it is just my computer, but I enjoyed your art anyway. Please know that your suffering is felt by others. Wishing you lots of strength to get through this period.

  3. Hi again Deana - I left a comment on your other blog. I have fibro too. Have you done any research on natural remedies? Big no nos are caffeine and sugar. Sugar especially makes me hurt really bad the day after. And there are lots of fruits - dark ones and especially pineapple that help with inflammation - which you have alot with fibro. Hope you feel better - I know each day is a surprise as far as how you'll feel. Hugs!

  4. Oh and I meant to add (but hit publish too soon LOL), if you have one of the little wonderful side effects of fibro - IBS - try taking a probiotic every day or every other day. It really has helped me.
